Installment #2
So I got onto the Blue Line and there were no open seat so I just stood opposite the doors. A few stops go by and then two guys get on. One of them goes to sit down in a seat that had opened up, and the other comes and stands next to me. So we are riding along and then the train jerks very suddenly and the guy across from me starts falling toward me and puts out his arm to stop himself and lands on the glass being me, almost boxing me into a corner. He then gets back up and then a few minutes later he goes "hey, can I give you my number" and I'm like "sorry." He then goes "really?" And I'm like "yeah, sorry." He then goes and sits next to his friend who he came onto the train with and they start talking. I then come to my stop soon after and head on my way to class.
Installment #1
So I was waiting to get on the train at the Forest Park Blue Line station. There was not a train in the station like there usually is, seeing that it is the end of the line. So a train finally came into the station and I got on right away. Once a train comes into the station, there are usually people that come onto the train to clean up the floors. So after I got on, one of the guys that also cleans the train came on. He started to clean right by where I was sitting. He started sweeping by my feet and started saying something. I couldn't really understand what he was saying because I had a headphone in but I though it was something along the line of "you shouldn't get on the train before the people get on to clean it", so I just said "sorry!" So he goes on cleaning the car and then moves onto the next car. Then a few minutes later, he comes back to the car that I was in and stopped right next to the seat I was sitting at, which was right by the door. Then he starts talking to me so I take out my headphones to hear wha he was saying and he says "I just wanted to tell you that you are very pretty." I said "thanks" and then we both just went on our ways.
What is this all about?
So my name is Caroline. I am a sophomore at University of Illinois at Chicago, studying Urban Education. I am a commuter, so everyday I take the train from Oak Park into the city, and then back out again later in the day. While riding the train I have many encounters with men trying to hit on me. I decided to write them all down, not just for me to remember all these strange encounters, but hopefully people find enjoyment in seeing some people pathetic attempts to hit on me. Enjoy!
